April 28 is designated by Parliament as the National Day of Mourning for workers killed or injured on the job. Here in Manitoba, the following events are planned for next month. Everyone is invited to attend both events.

Manitoba Federation of Labour (MFL) – Day of Mourning Candlelight Memorial Service

Once again the MFL is holding a candlelight memorial service to remember workers killed on the job and remind us of the need for safer and healthier workplaces. A reception with refreshments will take place after the service.

When: 1:30 pm, Sunday, April 28, 2013
Where: Main Floor Gallery - Manitoba Hydro Place (360 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg)

Safe Workers of Tomorrow – Annual Day of Mourning Leaders Walk

To remember those killed or injured on the job, Safe Workers of Tomorrow will be hosting their annual Leaders Walk.

When: April 26, 2013 Time: 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM
Where: Walk Starts at the Union Centre (275 Broadway, Winnipeg) and travels west along Broadway to the Manitoba Legislative Building (450 Broadway, Winnipeg)
