Today, members of the Metis Child & Family Services, Locals 383, 384 and 385 (including Michif Child & Family Services) and Metis Child & Family Services Authority, Local 394, ratified a new sick leave article in their collective agreement.

The provisions of this sick leave article increase the sick leave cap from 30 to 90 days, eliminating the need for a short-term disability plan.

The new article comes into effect immediately, and the cancellation of the short-term disability plan will come into effect on March 1st, 2013.

Cancelling the short-term disability plan will mean cost savings to all members of Locals 383, 384, 385, and 394 who are paying 100% of the costs associated with the plan.

If you have any questions about this new sick leave article, please contact the MGEU Resource Centre.
