Due to an administrative error by the Manitoba Labour Board, the Prairie Mountain Health representation vote for health care support service workers that was mailed out on January 4th has been cancelled.

Yesterday, the MGEU Resource Centre received dozens of calls from CUPE and MGEU members advising that the ballots they received from the Labour Board were incorrectly addressed and seeking information about how to proceed. Everyone was advised to contact the Labour Board directly.

This morning MGEU attended a meeting with the Labour Board to discuss the status of the vote and was advised that the Labour Board will now be conducting an in-person vote in the workplaces.

A vote planning meeting will be held this Thursday, January 10th, 2013. At that meeting details about when and where polls will be held will be determined. Those details will be posted here as soon as they become available.

Please be advised that the Labour Board has said that mail-in ballots can be discarded.

If you have any questions or concerns about the voting process, please contact the MGEU Resource Centre.
