Red River College Food Services Workers Accept Offer

Food Services workers at Red River College, Local 73, have accepted an agreement negotiated between the College and the MGEU.

The new agreement will avoid layoffs and the contracting out of food services to the private sector.

The offer was narrowly adopted by the membership. Its acceptance reflected their desire to avoid layoffs more than it did the substance of the agreement.

The MGEU will now be working with the employer to sign and finalize a Memorandum of Agreement which maintains the Food Services positions in house, and avoids contracting out.
