The 109 members of MGEU Local 214, Family Centre - Community Workers, ratified a new 3-year contract on September 13, 2012.
The settlement was reached with the help of Conciliation Services of the Manitoba Government.
Although restraint was imposed by the funders of the agency, the members will receive a 4% wage increase over the life of the agreement which expires in the fall of 2014.
The MGEU bargaining committee will be contacting the employer to get the agreement finalized and signed before it’s printed and distributed to members. In the meantime, members of Local 214 are encouraged to update their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once available.
