A meeting with the Manitoba Labour Board, representatives from the Manitoba Government & General Employees' Union (MGEU), the Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals (MAHCP) and Prairie Mountain Health was held today to count ballots in the Technical Professional Paramedical (TPP) representation vote that was held in late August.

The parties involved needed to resolve several objections raised regarding voter eligibility before the ballots could be counted. After agreement had been reached, the Labour Board moved to the next step in the process and presented a fair vote certificate that required signatures from the employer and both unions involved in the vote in order to continue.

At this stage, the employer signed the certificate, MGEU stated some concerns regarding the refusal on the Labour Boards' part to provide the addresses of the voters and signed the certificate without prejudice, and MAHCP chose not to sign the certificate also stating concerns over the release of addresses.

As a result of this, both unions have three business days to provide a written submission to the Labour Board regarding these concerns.

Once the Labour Board makes a ruling on the written submissions, the results will be posted here.
