This month, thousands of volunteers for the Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) in Manitoba will be going door-to-door to raise awareness and funds in support of local heart disease and stroke research, health promotion and advocacy that saves lives in this province.

Show your heart. Tip A Medic

The Heart Month campaign kicked off on February 1 with events in Brandon, Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg. The MGEU Paramedics of Winnipeg (Local 911) took part in the Winnipeg event in front of the Heart and Stroke Building.

Today, medics were on hand at nine Boston Pizza locations in Winnipeg, as well as the Selkirk and Portage la Prairie locations. All volunteered as servers during the 11:00am - 2:00pm lunch shift, and will be back tonight from 5:00pm - 8:00pm for the dinner shift for the Tip A Medic fundraiser.

All tips received will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in support of Heart Month and to help place more AEDs in Manitoba.
