The Canadian Federation of Students will hold a Day of Action this Wednesday, February 1, in major centres across Canada. Their goal is to attain a system of accessible and affordable public post-secondary education.

On Wednesday, February 1, students will be taking action all over the country. Rallies and other events will be taking place in cities across the country in both rural and urban communities. The Day of action is organized around the theme 'Public for the People', which pursues the broad goal of ensuring that our public institutions and democratic processes are working in the best interests of people, and not the financial elite.

In Winnipeg, the Day of Action events begin at 12:45 pm in Memorial Park leading to a 1:00pm rally in front of the Legislature. CFS members from the University of Winnipeg will leave their Portage Avenue Campus at 12:20 and march to Memorial Park. Buses will ferry students from the University of Manitoba and Université de St. Boniface to take part in the rally as well.

The Manitoba Federation of Labour supports the CFS campaign to make our post-secondary education system affordable and accessible for all and is urging all interested union members to attend the rally in support.
