Citizens to Rally in Support of Wheat Board

This Friday the Canadian Wheat Board Alliance, the National Farmers Union and other Wheat Board supporters are rallying at the CWB Building in Winnipeg (423 Main Street) to protest the federal government’s dismantling of the CWB.

Those organizing the rally are upset by the government’s lack of consultation with farmers, particularly the absence of a democratic vote, as required by Section 47.1 of the CWB Act.

The rally begins at noon. Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the CWB Building to meet a police-escorted farm cavalcade arriving from Red River Exhibition Park. Elected officials, farmers and citizens will address the crowd.
