WRHA Community Programs (Local 220) Bargaining Committee has been bargaining with the employer since May 2010, and on July 26, 2011 the employer put forth a “final offer” package on the remaining non-monetary items as well as monetary items (i.e. wages and benefits).
Tonight, in a nearly unanimous decision, WRHA Community Programs (Local 220) voted to reject the employer’s offer.
The bargaining committee anticipates the clear message being sent to the employer will result in a return to the bargaining table with a better offer. If the employer does not return to the table, the committee will have to begin preparations for a strike vote.
The Bargaining Committee wishes to thank the members for their continued support during this frustrating and difficult round of negotiations.
