MGEU bargaining representatives from Local 178 have reached a tentative agreement with the St.Amant Inc. Community Residential Program.
The four-year agreement includes a 5.8% general wage increase (April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2014) along with a number of changes to the current contract language. Of note, are changes to, and the addition of, several articles dealing with term and casual employment, compassionate leave, as well as mileage rates.
Although the Local 178 Bargaining Committee is not completely satisfied with the compensation being offered by the funder, it is their belief that after fifteen bargaining sessions, further negotiations will not bring about additional increases or improvements to the Collective Agreement.
