MGEU members working in child and youth care agencies gathered at the Manitoba Legislature today to voice their concerns about an underfunded system and low wages in their field.

The rally was organized by the Child and Youth Care Workers' Association of Manitoba and began at 10:30 am. Organizers asked anyone who felt that Child and Youth Care Practioners were paid inadequately for the vital services they provide to come out and show their support.

Approximately 150 supporters gathered at the front steps of the Legislature to hear from speakers, including CYCWAM President, Jessica Lusk, and voice their opinions about the challenges of working in an underfunded child welfare system.
