This past Sunday, May 1st, the MGEU hosted a free day at the Manitoba Museum for members and their families to enjoy. Even a spring snowstorm couldn’t keep members away as a sell-out crowd of Nearly 1,600 members and their families took in the free day at the museum to explore the galleries, planetarium and science gallery.

The MGEU represents about 70 members at the Manitoba Museum and MGEU President Lois Wales was happy to see so many members brave the weather and enjoy the galleries with their families.

“This is a real win-win for everyone,” said President Wales. “On one hand we’re able to offer members a free fun day out with their families and on the other it gives us the chance to support all of our members who work at one of the province’s great cultural treasures.”

Through the MGEU’s value-added discounts program, the union is able to offer reduced or free admission to various events and concerts throughout the year around Manitoba. All MGEU members receive a 25% discount on a one-year Manitoba Museum membership.
