(Winnipeg Labour Council) Tuesday, March 8, is International Women's Day - and it's the 100th anniversary of the event. The theme of the event is "Our Past Building Our Future - 100 Years of Her-story".

A number of events will be held in Manitoba to mark the event:

Pancake Breakfast

At the Union Centre in Winnipeg, the day will begin at 8 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast, to be followed at 9:00 a.m. by a series Workshops on The F-Word, the History of Women in the Labour Movement, and Radical Cheerleading. The cost of attending the workshops is $40 for the day - with lunch provided.

If you wish to attend the workshops, you must register by Friday, March 4. To register, you can download a registration form and submit it before the deadline. You can submit your completed registration form by faxing it to 942-7396, or mailing it to Winnipeg Labour Council, 504-275 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4M6.

If you prefer, you can also register by phoning the Winnipeg Labour Council office at 942-0522 during office hours, or by sending an email to wpglbr@mts.net providing your name, phone number and email address, plus your union name and local number. Regardless of how you register, your registration cannot be finalized until your registration payment is received. The deadline for receipt of payment is the registration deadline, Friday, March 4.
