Happy Holidays to all MGEU members and their families!
With the holiday season upon us, I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the membership for your support during these last few very busy months. I am thoroughly enjoying representing you as your President.
While Manitobans celebrate, you are continuing to provide services that everyone counts on. Working to keep families safe and secure during the holidays. Clearing our roads and highways, working in hospitals, care homes, and ambulances to make sure people get the care they need, and providing support to some of Manitoba’s most vulnerable citizens.
Our union is dedicated to ensuring as many people as possible enjoy a special holiday each year. That's why our staff decided to spread a little holiday cheer with a fundraising initiative through LITE (Local Investment Towards Employment), and donated approximately $1,400 to their organization. Area 3 Council members also donated $150 to Samaritan House Ministries along with several boxes of non-perishable goods to the Brandon Westman Christmas Cheer Registry Inc. Thanks to everyone for their efforts in their communities.
As many of us take time from work to be with family and friends, I want to wish all of you the best of the season, and a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year.
