After a year without a new contract, Red River College and Assiniboine Community College presented the MGEU bargaining committee with a settlement offer to take to members for a ratification vote.

Since securing a strike mandate from ACC/RRC members in June, the bargaining committee met four times with the employer through conciliation. Those deliberations resulted in considerable improvements in a number of key areas and today, the employer provided a settlement offer. The details of that offer and all previously agreed to items will be sent next week to members in a ratification package, along with a mail-in ballot and return envelope.

To give members the opportunity to get clarification on the offer, information meetings are being scheduled in Winnipeg and Brandon (details on those meetings will also be included in the ratification package). Members can cast their ballot at the meeting in their area or by mail.

The ACC/RRC bargaining committee would like to thank their fellow members for their continued support and patience throughout what has been a difficult and lengthy round of bargaining.
