MGEU members filled the Portage la Prairie Royal Canadian Legion Hall – and their stomachs – this Wednesday for the annual United Way Spaghetti Luncheon.

This was the biggest Portage Spaghetti Luncheon to date with 502 lunches served, including 216 deliveries, and $4,020 raised for the United Way. MGEU staff and members once again volunteered to prepare the food with help from inmates at the Portage Correctional Centre. The Royal Canadian Legion donated the space for the event.

The MGEU would like to thank everyone involved for making this year’s Spaghetti Lunch a complete success.

All of the money raised by this event stays in the community to fund various programs and services offered by organizations in Portage and the surrounding communities. To find out how you can get involved with the 2009 Annual Campaign contact the Portage Plains United Way.
