MGEU's 66th Convention Kicks-Off Virtually with All-Candidates Forum

MGEU’s first-ever virtual Convention kicks off today with the All-Candidates Forum at 7pm and continues through Wednesday and Thursday.

Members who are not Convention delegates, and would like to tune in to the All-Candidates Forum and Convention proceedings, can watch the live-stream on our Convention Home Page.

Convention proceedings take place October 20 - 21 and begin at 9:00am on both days.

During the MGEU Virtual Convention, delegates will elect MGEU’s Provincial Officers, review the audited financial statements, approve the annual budget, and review some constitutional processes. Delegates will also consider the Board’s recommendation to hold a two-day, in-person Special Convention in June, 2022 to address resolutions submitted by MGEU members, as well as a research report on the advantages and disadvantages of moving to a three-year Convention/elections cycle.

To help recognize and salute the efforts and dedication of MGEU's Standing Committees, we’re holding a virtual trivia contest to encourage MGEU Convention Delegates and members to read each committee’s report and learn more about the great work they’ve done this past term.
