After more than a year of bargaining, and with the assistance of mediation and legal counsel to bring the employer into serious discussions re: monetary proposals, members of the Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone – Local 454 ratified their first collective agreement yesterday.
Highlights of the agreement include wage increases and and the introduction of premiums for additional certification or seasonal tasks.
The Bargaining Committee encourages members who have not yet signed a membership application form to contact the MGEU Resource Centre to ensure they receive a copy of the collective agreement once it’s printed.
