A compelling ad is running on Manitoba television stations in January and February: a man tells his story of how a wide range of health care professionals, including paramedics, ultrasound, EKG and lab technologists, pharmacists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists and case coordinators were vital to his survival and recovery after brain trauma.

The MGEU’s Technical/Professional/Paramedical Component is currently at the bargaining table. In the voice over for the ad, the man says “I didn’t even know most of the professions existed. But these people – amazing people – gave me my life back.”

At this critical juncture in negotiations, the ads aim to remind Manitobans the critical role our health professionals play when trauma or illness strikes.
