The 11th anniversary of the Manitoba Service Excellence Awards was celebrated on Friday, June 19th, and representatives from the MGEU were on hand to offer thanks and congratulations to the many members who were recognized for their hard work and outstanding service.

“It's important to celebrate and recognize Provincial employees for the good work they do in providing valuable public services to Manitobans each and every day,” said MGEU President Peter Olfert. “Manitoba’s success as a province is due in part to the contributions of these individuals. I would like to congratulate all award recipients this year, and thank them for their contributions and commitment.”

For this year's awards, 229 government employees and 32 non-government employees were honoured for their outstanding efforts on behalf of Manitobans and fomally recognized by their colleagues.

This year’s award recipients are:

Established through Service Quality Partners in 1998, the Manitoba Service Excellence Awards recognize the hard work, dedication and outstanding efforts of Manitoba government employees. Recipients are nominated by co-workers in recognition of their outstanding contributions as government workers and community volunteers. The awards -- sponsored by the MGEU, Manitoba Civil Service Commission, Manitoba Organization and Staff Development, and Service Transformation Manitoba -- are a highlight of National Public Service Week.
