Today, the Manitoba Government & General Employees’ Union (MGEU) and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service announced the honourary designation of St. Mary’s Road, between St. Anne’s Road and Mager Drive, as Paramedic Way. 

MGEU President, Michelle Gawronsky, MGEU Local 911, Paramedics of Winnipeg President, Ryan Woiden, Local 911 Vice-President, Troy Reidy, and MGEU Component Director: Emergency Medical Services, Rebecca Clifton were part of the unveiling.

“Paramedics provide a valuable public service and are a vital part of our city and province,” said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky.  “This recognition is well deserved and highly appreciated.”

MGEU Local 911 members are paramedics and dispatchers that provide Winnipeggers with emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The Paramedic Way sign toppers were installed today in front of the former St. Vital Firehall on St. Mary’s Road between St. Anne’s Road and Mager Drive. The honourary street designation will be in effect for five years starting today.
