This afternoon the 20th Annual Manitoba Service Excellence Awards were held in Winnipeg to recognize the outstanding achievements of provincial employees.

Many MGEU members received awards, including Martin Jandavs, Facility Manager at the Manitoba Law Courts Complex, who received the Premier’s Career Achievement Award with 49 years of service to Manitobans. The award honours an individual with 20 years or more of continuous service, whose passion for their work, positive attitude and high personal work ethic has earned them the greatest respect of their peers.

“Martin and his staff must work seamlessly with their Justice colleagues to ensure its reliable and safe operations,” says his nominator, Suzanne Parent. “He is solution and service oriented and is dedicated and persistent in achieving the best for the complex, its occupants, and visitors.”

The Manitoba Service Excellence Awards recognize the hard work, dedication and outstanding efforts of all Manitoba civil servants who deliver service excellence every day. The awards were first presented in 1999 and are proudly sponsored by the Civil Service Commission, Manitoba Business Transformation and Technology, Service Quality Partners, and the MGEU.

The MGEU extends its congratulations to all members recognized at this year’s event.
