Two MGEU Locals in Brandon ratified new collective agreements yesterday.
Members of the YWCA Westman Women’s Shelter – Local 171, who assist women and children who’ve left their homes because of domestic violence, and YWCA Meredith Place Residence – Local 424, who provide temporary housing for Brandon’s most vulnerable, both voted to accept four-year deals with their employer.
Highlights include wage increases in each year of the agreement and updated and extended maternity and paternity leave language.
Members are encouraged to make sure the union has their most current contact information in order to receive a copy of their collective agreement.
