This June, Manitoba families will once again be treated to zany circus acts, high strung acrobatics, comic daredevils, and much more at the 27th Annual Winnipeg International Children’s Festival.

The MGEU is continuing its support of Kidsfest by sponsoring Wee Workers Day on Friday, June 5th. In cooperation with the Manitoba Government, Wee Workers Day is an opportunity to give kids and parents a fun and interactive way to get to know MGEU members and the work they do around the province.

Kids will be able to explore everything from the view atop a construction grater to the inside of an ancient tortoise shell. Healthy Child MB will be serving up healthy fun with face painting, free fruity snacks, fun-fit activities, a home-made play dough station and more. And don’t forget to try and guess that seed at the MB Agriculture table!

The festival runs from June 4th to the 7th and, as with past Children’s Festivals, it will be packed with entertainers.

“We’ve got so many great new acts coming this year,” says Festival Executive Producer Neal Rempel. “It’s really a great mix of music, theatre, and comedy for kids – I think it’s the best one we’ve ever offered!”

Rempel singled out several acts as “must-see” attractions including Grand Dérangement, an eclectic musical group from Nova Scotia, Udi Grudi from Brazil performing comic musical eccentrics, Asani, a contemporary Aboriginal trio from Alberta and El Gleno Grande from West Virginia with his spoof of a circus equestrian.
