This morning, President Michelle Gawronsky attended the Manitoba Legislative Building, where she joined Manitoba Conservation Officers in listening to the second reading of Bill 226, The Manitoba Conservation Officers Recognition Day Act.

In the words of the Act, “it is important to honour Manitoba’s conservation officers for their selfless work, and recognize that conservation officers deserve protection and support in carrying out their important enforcement duties.”

From this year forward, October 1 will recognize all Conservation Officers and the great services they provide to the citizens of Manitoba. The Bill was originally introduced by MLA Alan Lagimodiere of Selkirk.
