March came in like a lion here in Manitoba and many of us –
especially in the west and up north – are still feeling the impact of this
week’s blizzard. For many MGEU members, the weather meant going above and
beyond to get the job done.
“We’ve heard so many stories of our members throughout the province who found a way to make their way into work so others could, too,” said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky. “Whether they operate a snowplow on our highways or have the keys to a provincial office, they take their duties to the public very seriously and made every effort to be there for Manitobans during this storm”
It’s at times like these – when emergency hits and we need
Manitobans who are ready and willing to take the lead, help where needed, and
be there to serve – when the
value of an effective and equipped public service comes into focus,
“It’s a good reminder that public services never take a
break,” she said. “They keep our province going and growing.”
