Members of Special People in Kildonan East (SPIKE) - Local 266, who provide community living assistance to people living with intellectual disabilities, voted to ratify a new three-year collective agreement yesterday.
Highlights of the agreement include modest wage increases in the first two years of the agreement (with wage re-openers in 2018 and 2019), as well as improvements to vacation and family leave, sick leave, and bereavement leave.
The agreement will be finalized and signed shortly, then printed and distributed to members. SPIKE members are encouraged to update their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract.
