The MGEU is sad to report the passing of Caren Zimmerman on Friday, September 2. She had most recently been a staff representative in the MGEU’s Dauphin office.
Caren began her career at the MGEU in 2011. Prior to that, she worked for Human Resources Canada in Manitoba and Saskatchewan before coming back to Manitoba to work for the province. While working for the Manitoba Civil Service (Administration Component) she was also an active union member for the majority of her career, serving her fellow Local 29 members in several elected positions.
Caren was a big supporter of the Dauphin Kings, having season tickets directly behind the bench.
We mourn the passing of another member of the MGEU family and send our condolences to Caren’s family and friends at this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 2:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dauphin (16 Kirby Ave. E.).
