Members of Allied Wings - Local 379, the flight instructors who train our country’s military pilots, ratified a new five-year agreement last night.

“We’re proud to have these members based out of Southport, Manitoba, because they really are the best of the best,” said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky. “In many ways, it’s an interesting contract to bargain because there are so few comparators to what these members do.”

Highlights of the agreement, which will be in effect March 20, 2016 to March 19, 2021, include wage increases equivalent to the cost of living as well as bonus increases based on number of flights or training opportunities completed, and new language that protects bargaining unit work and limits how much work can be done by out of scope employees.
