Today the MGEU Board of Directors elected Community-Based Social Services Component Director, Melissa Dvorak, to serve as the MGEU’s 4th Vice-President.

The position was formerly held by Scott Cloney of the Corrections Component, who recently stepped down after serving in the position since 2012. Elections for 4th VP and all other provincial executive positions will take place this October at the MGEU’s 2016 Convention.

Melissa has been involved in the MGEU as a Local 369 (Macdonald Youth Services APHP) activist since 2007. Since 2010 she has served on the MGEU Board of Directors and currently sits on the MGEU Constitution, Bylaw and Structure standing committee and chairs the MGEU’s Safety, Health and Environment standing committee.

The Board congratulates Melissa on her new role and thanks Scott for his years of service.
