MGEU members that work at Addictions
Foundation of Manitoba (AFM - MGEU Component 16) have ratified a new five-year contract today.
AFM members, who provide a wide range of
addiction support services to thousands of Manitobans throughout the province,
have been in bargaining since 2014. After a long and challenging round of
negotiations, they reached a tentative agreement in February.
Their new contract (effective March 30,
2014 - March 23, 2019) includes general wage increases in each year,
improvements to the health spending account, the introduction of a direct-pay
prescription drug plan, and employment security provisions for the life of the
agreement.
Now that the contract is ratified, the AFM
Bargaining Committee will be meeting with their employer to finalize and then
sign the agreement for printing and distribution to members.
