Members of Community Programs - Local 220 ratified a new four-year collective agreement last night.

The Local is made up of a wide range of community health workers, ranging from home care case coordinators and administrative staff, to dieticians, to mental health crisis responders. Nearly two years ago, the employer came to the bargaining table with a number of concessionary proposals, including a move to a mandatory seven-day work schedule for all employees.

“With the support of members, we received a strong strike mandate and were able to push the employer back from these kinds of concessions,” said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky.
