On Saturday, February 27, 2016, members of the Deaf Centre (Local 203), most of whom work in building and maintenance, voted to ratify a new four-year agreement with the employer.

The Committee held a meeting with members to gather ideas and proposals to improve their collective agreement in early 2015, and then worked to compile these proposals into a comprehensive package to present to the employer. The Committee exchanged proposal packages with the employer in December 2015.

The new contract, which will remain in effect from March 31, 2015 to March 31, 2019, includes a significant improvement to vacation leave. Members will now have more flexibility in how they can take their vacation, no longer having to take time off in extended blocks.
