Congratulations to our newest MGEU members, the support staff at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home.
On March 19th, they ratified their first collective agreement by a large majority. There will be a few minor adjustments to the contract and it will be mailed out to members shortly.
The collective agreement resulted in substantial improvements in their rates of pay which will leave them at par with our other Manitoba personal care homes. This includes a 2.15% retroactive pay increase, a 2.9% increase March 20th, a further 2.9% increase on April 1, 2009 and a 2.9% increase in April 2010 and 2011.
