On Friday, the Province began their province-wide, pre-budget consultations — where individuals, organizations and corporations are given the opportunity to share their concerns and priorities with the government.
The first consultation meeting was held at University College of the North (UCN) in The Pas. Several MGEU members were in attendance, and the government was asked to return to the Civil Service bargaining table because both sides need to be there for it to work — to which Finance Minister Greg Dewar agreed.
The MGEU would like to encourage all members to participate in the consultation process by completing the Government’s survey on the budget, whether sending it in by mail or email, or completing the survey online.
