The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) Manitoba has partnered with Next Up to offer a social change leadership program that begins in early 2015.

Next Up trains young progressive leaders (18-32 years of age) that are committed to social and environmental justice. It was created by a community of people who wanted to help emerging leaders develop new and better skills and ideas.

The five month program is intense and will delve into a number of topics and disciplines, “combining theory, practice, deep thinking, and hard skills.” Pressing Canadian policy issues will be examined, as will progressive ways to address them.

For the 2014-2015 year, the primary focus of the program will be on climate change. Not every session will be dedicated to this topic, but the way that climate change affects the issues addressed by the program will be a main theme.

The program runs from January 23, 2015 to May 26, 2015 and consists of evening and weekend sessions a few times a month.
