This morning, MGEU delegates at Convention 2014 re-elected Michelle Gawronsky as union President.

The election for President went to a second vote. In the first round Gerry Labelle received 48 votes, Melissa Dvorak received 135 votes and Michelle Gawronsky received 153 votes.

Michelle Gawronsky won the second round with 172 votes. “I just want to take a moment to thank both of the candidates that ran for president, it’s not an easy thing to do to stand up here and pour your heart out and your feelings - and I also want to thank the delegates for your support and your faith that together we are going to go forward and make our changes. Thank you brothers and sisters,” Gawronsky said in her acceptance speech.

Michelle spent years working in the health care sector and brings over 29 years of union experience to the office of MGEU President.
