Last Thursday night, at a multi-union bargaining table, MGEU Health Care Support Services (HCSS) staff negotiator Sheila Gordon and HCSS Component Director Terry Rear, along with union representatives from CUPE, UFCW, PSAC and IUOE, received a monetary offer from the employer.
The MGEU HCSS Central Table Bargaining committee began contract negotiations in mid-October, and though Multi-Union negotiations have concluded, the HCSS Bargaining Committee will be returning to the MGEU table shortly to wrap-up outstanding items.
The Bargaining Committee expects to have a tentative settlement for each Local’s individual contract by this spring, at which time members will have an opportunity to review the deal before accepting or rejecting it at a ratification vote.
