Since December 2012, the Colleges Common Bargaining Table (Local 71, Assiniboine Community College and Local 73, Red River College) met with the employer on 19 occasions to reach a new tentative agreement.
Negotiations reached a stalemate in the fall and the Bargaining Committee and employer jointly applied for conciliation to see if any progress could be made through that process.
After 10 sessions with a conciliator, the employer presented a “Final Offer” to the Bargaining Committee on Monday.
The Bargaining Committee (which represents roughly 1800 members from both Locals) will be holding meetings across the province in the next few weeks to give members the opportunity to see the final offer and vote on it.
Ballots will not be sent in the mail. Members must come in person to any one of these meetings in order to get the details of the final offer and cast their ballot.
The Bargaining Committee appreciates the continued support of members as they work towards obtaining a fair and reasonable settlement for all members of Locals 71 and 73.
