The MGEU has made a donation of $20,000 to Oxfam to assist with relief efforts in the Philippines in the wake of the recent devastation wrought by Typhoon Haiyan.
The contribution was made from the MGEU’s Humanitarian Fund, which has disaster relief as part of its mandate.
The Canadian government will match contributions to Philippine relief until December 23. To date, NUPGE and its affiliates have contributed more than $60,000 towards these efforts.
