Provincial paramedics are being honoured for their contributions to
Manitoba families' Health and Safety during EMS Week (May 26-June 1).
"I want to take this opportunity to thank all Manitoba medics for all they
do to ensure Manitobans get the best pre-hospital care in the country,"
said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky. "Having worked as a paramedic for
14 years, I know the challenges they face in providing care. I'm proud that the
Province has chosen this week to recognize their valuable contributions to our
health care system."
The MGEU will be participating in events this week celebrating paramedics. Last
week, MGEU made a presentation on behalf of Manitoba medics in support of the
Paramedics Association of Manitoba's (PAM) application to establish a College of
Paramedicine (self regulation) in our province.
