Over the past two weeks, MGEU members from Technical Professional Paramedical (TPP), Eden Mental Health Centre, and Diagnostic Services of Manitoba (DSM) have been casting their ballots to either accept or reject a new tentative agreement.

Last night the ballots were counted. The result: 70% of the members who cast their ballots have voted to accept the new agreements.

They include a general wage increase for all classifications in the last two years, a 2% long service step and long service-vacation, market adjustments for groups that are behind their counterparts across the country, as well as a comprehensive plan to achieve provincial wage parity for EMS over a number of years.

The next step for the bargaining committee is to finalize and sign each of the agreements with the employers before it can be printed and distributed. Members are encouraged to update their contact information here or by calling the Resource Centre to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract.
