The Manitoba Federation of Labour will hold two free information sessions about the big changes under way for workplace safety and health in Manitoba.

Following the most comprehensive consultations ever held on workplace safety and health in Manitoba, Labour Minister Jennifer Howard recently announced a new Five-year Plan for Workplace Injury and Illness Prevention. The plan promises changes to:

· the Workplace Safety and Health Act and regulations;

· workplace injury and illness prevention programs;

· workers compensation;

· return to work programs for injured workers; and

· mental health in the workplace.

The MFL information sessions will explain what the changes could mean for your workplace. The sessions will feature a panel of labour activists who participated in the consultations that produced Manitoba's new workplace safety plan:

· Blaine Duncan

· Rob Hilliard

· Wendy Sol

· Jean-Guy Bourgeois

There will be an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists and more detailed printed materials will be available.
