MGEU Joins OPSEU Liquor Workers' Rally

MGEU 2nd Vice President from GOLICO Component 9 joined the rally of 1,700 supporters on April 26, demanding the Crown-owned retail giant get serious about negotiating a new collective agreement that puts ‘good jobs’ first.

As part of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union’s first day of Convention 2013, union organizers staged a rally / march to the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) head office in Toronto.

The purpose of the rally: bring some much-needed attention to the concessionary bargaining taking place against Ontario Liquor Workers. More than 1,700 (including MGEU 2nd Vice-President and GOLICO member Steve Roznowsky) marched to the LCBO head office in support. OPSEU Liquor Workers are slated to go on strike before the May long weekend.
