Members of Knowles Centre (SAIL) - Local 432 voted overwhelmingly to reject the employer's latest offer and deliver their Bargaining Committee a strike mandate on November 20, 2023.
The Committee has requested that the employer return to the table as soon as possible. Stay tuned for further updates.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Knowles Centre (SAIL) - Local 432 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals to improve their collective agreement at a meeting scheduled for Friday, November 26, 2021.
The Bargaining Committee then worked to pull together these proposals into a package to present to the employer.
The Bargaining Committee began negotiations with the employer on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Bargaining resumed on Friday, September 16, and Thursday, October 6, 2022 and November 2, 2022.
The Knowles Centre (SAIL) - Local 432 Bargaining Committee resumed negotiations with the employer on November 29 and December 13, 2022.
In September 2023, the two sides began working through monetary proposals.
After the Knowles Centre (SAIL) - Local 432 Bargaining Committee received a final offer from the employer, the Committee brought it out to a vote for members.
The Committee recommended rejection of the offer and encouraged members to give them the leverage they need at the table by delivering a strike mandate.
